Wayfarer is a lovely yarn for sock knitting because it is so soft and buttery to the touch. It is a perfect yarn for a light weight shrug, scarf, or cape. It is also ideal for color-work such as Fair Isle, cabling, and lace work as well. Wayfarer yarn has a soft and bouncy hand it is truly a pleasure to work with.

I bought this yarn with a specific project in mind. I just learned to knit patterns in the traditional style of the alpine region, also called “twisted stitches”. These intricate patterns work up best in fine and slightly over twisted yarn and the wayfarer fits perfectly. So far I have done a swatch and am happy with the degree oft softness.
