These colors are great! Haven’t used them yet, but would love these colors in cotton bash and in thick & thin with linen.

Really excellent cotton for weaving. No broken warp threads. Was able to tie on a second warp easily. Put some color catchers in the first wash. Beautiful dye and spin. Only 1 or 2 knots on a whole 1 pound cone. I used for a pinwheel 8 shaft weave at 24 EPI for napkins. I wanted to try some cotton yarn within the US supply chain and I’m very happy with the value of this yarn.

Great yarn is working up very quickly, doesn’t split.

Over the years, I have collected 8/2 cotton from several sources, some of it from highly publicized, big-name brands. I recently had a project that combined these many-sourced yarns and can honestly say that Made In America yarns were not over-twisted or over-processed. They did not unravel or fray. They performed well; and I had no problems with them, unlike the yarn from the Big Box Stores, which I will never use again. I would like more color choices…hint, hint. 🙂

8/2 is always good quality. And since I use a lot of it, this is a good place to restock my supplies.

“offering it two convenient cone sizes and beautiful colorways”
I only see one cone size? What are the two cone sizes?

Not color fast. Check your reds and purples before using

I found this thread to be coarse, but used it as a weft and after wet finishing, it wasn’t too bad. Wanted to use it as warp this morning…. it breaks with barely any effort!! (I’m a 73 y.o. woman, so not a very strong tug.) Totally unsuitable for warp. I’m so disappointed. Now have several large cones of thread that can only we used as weft. 🙁

Hi Elizabeth, we’re sorry to hear about your experience with the 8/2 yarn, this is a lace weight yarn and sometimes not strong enough to use as warp in some projects – We hope you enjoy using it as weft in your future projects!

Although this thread feels quite coarse on the cone, it softens and blooms nicely during the first wash. Great for dishtowels sett at 20-24 ends per inch. My go to for 8/2 cotton.

This yarn makes great kitchen towels and washcloths, as well as napkins. I double the warp and weft in my rigid heddle loom and get great results. The towels and napkins just get softer with use and are coveted by my family.

Way to many factory knots, not at All Soft
